Scimm. Dance Company invites professional-level dancers aged 18+ to audition for our 2026 performance season. We’re seeking bold, expressive, and technically grounded artists to join our collective.
What to Expect - The audition will include a contemporary technique class, followed by a ballet or jazz/commercial class, and task-based improvisation. No solo required. Just bring your artistry, versatility, and readiness to move.
Who We’re Looking For - Scimm. is home to dancers with diverse foundations: contemporary technique, ballet lineage, commercial edge, all are welcome when they bring commitment, individuality, and a collaborative spirit. We are hiring for paid company positions in our major performance seasons in 2026 including Midsumma Festival.
*Applicants must be aged 18+ and hold Australian citizenship or permanent residency.

This is your final chance to join the 2026 intake of Scimm. Dance Pre-Professional, Melbourne’s leading full-time contemporary training program for emerging professional artists.
If you're ready to train at an elite level, build a sustainable career in dance, and immerse yourself in a cutting-edge creative community, this is where it begins.
The day includes a full audition experience including ballet, contemporary and commercial/jazz styles alongside tasking and improvisation. Individual interviews will follow if selected.
We’re looking for bold, committed dancers who are ready to push themselves in the next phase of their careers in a safe and nurturing environment.
Scimm. Dance Pre-Professional is a full-time course designed for dancers aged 16+, offering elite contemporary training supported by classical ballet and commercial foundations.
Alongside your Certificate IV & Diploma qualifications, you’ll gain:

REGISTER - SCHOLARSHIP WORKSHOP
SUNDAY OCTOBER 19TH | AUSTRALIAN ACADEMY OF DANCE | 10 AM - 4:30 PM
Suitable for dancers ages 9+, the 2025 Scimm. Dance Scholarship Workshop is your chance to learn from top-tier choreographers, push your limits in a full-day workshop, and be seen by the Scimm. Dance team.
Across four dynamic classes, dancers will be considered for scholarships, cash prizes, and early placements to our 2026 programs including Platforms, Ascension, The Experience and Pre-Professional. With up to $20,000 in scholarships and prizes up for grabs, this is more than just a workshop, it’s your launchpad into next-level training.

Scimm. Dance Pre-Professional is a comprehensive full-time training course tailored to an elite pre-professional level in contemporary dance.
THE EXPERIENCE
A transformative six-week performance-based program that offers aspiring young dancers an extraordinary opportunity to work closely with Scimm. Dance Artistic Directors, Scott Pokorny and Tim Barnes.
ASCENSION TRAINING PROGRAM
Our Ascension training offers weekly extension programs for committed young dancers aged 8 to 19 years who want to build their technique, creativity and knowledge of contemporary dance.
