Scott Pokorny
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR & CO-FOUNDERScott was born and raised in the Northern Beaches of Sydney and danced under the wing of his mother Dianne Pokorny, an ex-dancer of the Australian Ballet. Scott danced from the ages of three to fourteen at Northern Districts School Of Ballet, his mother's dance school, studying the Cecchetti Method of ballet along with training in jazz, contemporary and hip hop. At the age of fifteen Scott was accepted into the Australian Ballet School.
As a graduate of the Australian Ballet School, Scott has worked for and performed with numerous choreographers and companies in Australia and overseas including The Australian Ballet, Salzburg Ballet Company and Jack Productions. Scott has taught at numerous dance schools and full-time schools in Australia and has worked extensively with Cecchetti Ballet Australia. Scott was selected to be a part of So You Think You Can Dance Australia Top 100 2014.
Alongside Artistic Director and Co-Founder, Tim Barnes, Scott has choreographed Senseless State (2018), Aetherium (2019), Paracosm (2022) and Mechorstra (2023) for Scimm. Dance Company in addition to Void (2018), Within Us (2019), Desolate (2021), Mother (2021), Monark (2022) and Play (2023) for Platforms Youth Company.
Tim Barnes
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR & CO-FOUNDERTim was born in the country town of Rosedale, Victoria. He had a strong passion for performing as a child and began dancing at the age of six. Under the direction of Brian Nolan, Timothy trained in classical ballet at the Australian International School of Coaching for two years, later graduating from Jason Coleman’s Ministry of Dance in 2009.
Tim was a contestant on "So You Think You Can Dance" Australia 2010 and travelled the world performing for Princess Cruises throughout 2011. He has performed with Melbourne contemporary companies Vertical Shadows and Collaboration the Project and has also worked with MC Hammer, Kimbra and Delta Goodrem. Tim has extensive experience as a performer, choreographer and teacher having taught at many schools throughout Australia.
